Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works in TV and film is most well-known for her roles in films such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. She was the sole child of Romanian actors Valentin Platareu, Alexandra started her showbiz career from a young age. By the time she turned sixteen, she had secured leading roles in several television dramas. Her performance as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue, from Downfall (an Oscar-nominated historical war film) was critically as well as highly rated commercially. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated movies featuring this actress. Alexandra is well-known for her participation in a variety of noteworthy projects both domestically as well as internationally. She has also been an official juror for the Transylvania International Film Festival as in The Cannes Film Festival.
