Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September 21 1983) is an American actress, best well-known for her role in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. After her parents divorced, she moved with her mom in Los Angeles. The year 2001 was a difficult one for her, but despite finances, she was able get her first significant role in the online video series Rachel's Room playing the lead character. The TV film Murder in Greenwich where she portrayed 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played the lead actress on Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with all the cast. Grace wanted to focus on film following her role as Tom Welling's character, The Fog, in 2005. She has appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well in 2007 and in Taken alongside Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day adaptation that Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in two more episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. In 2013, she appears in Californianation, the sixth season. She portrays Faith as a groupie, as well as a model for the stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. Part of the Gyllenhaal family she is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and is the younger sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began as a young teenager with small role in films made that her father directed. In addition, she was a part of her brother in the 2001 famous film Donnie Darko. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind both in 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performance in the erotic romance comedy drama Secretary (2002) and in the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) each of which brought her the Golden Globe Award nomination. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008 after numerous highly successful films, including World Trade Center (2006) and World Trade Center (2006), earned Gyllenhaal more fame. Following her acclaimed performance as an unmarried mother on the screen in Crazy Heart (2009), she earned the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she appeared in dramatics and comedies: Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (2012). The other roles she's played includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 an action thriller) and actors in Frank (2014 and drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and The kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal wrote and directed her first film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The drama about psychological issues won the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
